As the 2026 edition of Mobile World Congress (MWC) takes place in Barcelona, Fibocom is launching its new flagship 5G FWA CPE platform.

The Chinese communications equipment company is positioning the product as a template for the AI-ready home and SMB network – combining a 5G-Advanced FG390 module based on MediaTek’s T930 with the Filogic 8800 Wi‑Fi 8 chipset for end‑to‑end, multi‑gigabit connectivity. 

By unifying 5G-A backhaul and next‑generation Wi‑Fi 8 access, the design is targeting operators, ISPs and OEMs that need deterministic performance, massive device density and carrier-grade reliability at the network edge.

The solution integrates the FG390 5G module – powered by MediaTek T930 – with the Filogic 8800 Wi-Fi8 platform, bringing the best of 5G-A and Wi-Fi 8 together. 

It creates seamless, high-performance connectivity tailored specifically for homes and SMBs, handling demanding multi-device environments with ease.

As well as this, advanced multi-AP collaboration lets access points coordinate intelligently to minimise conflicts. 

This reduces interference by more than 40% while boosting spectrum efficiency, ensuring smoother operation across dozens of devices – from smart TVs and laptops to IoT sensors – in busy households or offices.

Providing extended coverage and stability

Enhanced Long-Range (ELR) and distributed Resource Unit (dRU) technologies strengthen signal penetration through walls and obstacles, meaning coverage and wall penetration improve by up to 40%.

This ensures that a stable connection is always maintained, even for devices at the network edge.

Meanwhile, the platform is also capable of delivering sub-millisecond latency alongside doubled throughput compared to previous generations. It is able to sustain this performance even when more than 200 devices connect simultaneously – making lag-free gaming, video calls and real-time apps viable across an entire network.
